No, America will not lose the war against terrorism. I do not agree with your assumption that we are losing economic status. As long as there are multiple political parties, free elections and a constitutionally guaranteed right to bear arms, we will not turn into another soviet union. What exactly is 'losing in the battle of terrorism"? If it means being attacked by terrorists, then 9/11 was the end of the battle, and another attack is inevitable, no matter what people try to do.
And yes, it is entirely possible that America become a Communist dictatorship in the effort to fight against terrorism - but that will be the loss of another battle...
