I own a dual core computer. and bought a PCI express 512 mgb video card.

I have installed the drivers, updated drives and as far as i know have it all right.

But yet some games freeze up on me. NOT lag, just freeze ups.

Any idea what i can do about this?

How much memory do you have on the computer?

If your graphic card has ample video RAM, then you have to see how much RAM you have on your computer..

It is a possibility that the games have bugs but I check your memory first

I will assume that you have at least 512 MB of DDR400 RAM. You said that you successfully installed the drivers right?
I have a 2.66 GHz Pentium D, a 128 mb radeon and some of my software freeze also. Dual core produces a lot of heat, add your 512 mb video card, maybe you should install additional system fans.

As mentioned above you need to download the dual-core optimizer. And if you do this and the problem still persists. Go to your motherboard manufacturer or chipset manufacturer and download the latest chipset drivers. If I were you, and there is a newer version driver for your chipset. I suggest you uninstall the video driver, install the chipset driver, then install the video driver again. Always make sure your are using the latest version drivers for these devices. It can sometimes be critical. Especially for todays intense games. Good luck.

Assuming you've got an AMD dual-core, you'll need to download the file on this page that is for your processor: http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html
