I'm horrified but not surprised. Lately it seems that the only people that get any help are the rich friends of the Bush family.
Everyone else just gets excuses and lack of action. Still, perhaps we get what we deserve. I didn't vote for him, but apparently the majority of Americans did so we have to pat our selves on the back for choosing such a winner! (shame you can't hear the sarcasm in my voice)

Not really, when a government evacuates a city on our own soil do they pay for the means by which people leave? No, they still have to pay for gas, they still need to find somewhere to go. Lebanon is on the other side of the world and the 25,000 Americans there chose to be there, if they want to get out, then they have to pay the money back. Its not an immediate expense, not having the money doesn't mean they won't get out to safety, it just means that the government doesn't have enough money allocated to move and support 25,000 people for an indeterminate period of time.
Sorry if I have come off as a bit cold, I find it as sad as you do that such things can happen and i am by no means a big fan of our current government (read some of my other answers or my 360). I just wanted to give you a glimpse of the other side and maybe calm you down some... you used a lot of capitals, exclamation points, and f*ck... hope you can find some solace in our crazy world...

I lived through Katrina and never got a single penny in aid. They didn't even give me any more money back on my taxes. The American government is crooked and disgusts me on a daily basis. We might as well be living in Mexico. The damn cops do what they want and screw us over constantly. Politicians just pander to the bigger religious groups so rather than giving the people what they need they just enforce on us what the damn holy rollers want for us and from us. It's a damn shitty mess and it's not going to change until we smarten up, get Bush out of office, and elect someone from a 3rd party who actually makes sense to the common man.

Lets see..... these folks decided to vaction in a region where there are what 2 or 3 open wars being faught? Who on gods green earth would vacation in a country were suicide bombings don't even make the evening news? And our government is supposed to jump through hoops to bail them out of a "not so smart" decision on a vacation hot spot?
The Japanese government charged their people for the plane tickets and food costs after they got them away from the iraqi insurgants. The Japanese people rightly felt that by putting themselves in harms way that they had embarrassed the Japanese culture as a whole. At least they understand honor.....
And as for comparing those people on vacation in a war zone to the people who died and suffered through the aftermath of one of our countrys worst natural disasters?Hurricane Katrina? You should be banned form the Answers Groups. You seem to have lost touch with reality. Ask your stupid question to someones face in New Orleans. They'll most likely punch you in the mouth.

what are those people doing in the Muslim country anyway? After all the kidnappings and the beheadings of the innocent Americans in Iraq? killings of Americans in Afghanistan? Lebanon and Palestinians hate us, why go there and risk not only your life but the life of your little children? They should be forever grateful to American government. I personally do not agree with the Bush's administration, but this time it's not their fault.

Any American stupid enough to be an a Islamic terror state is probley a terrorist themselves. The US should not allow any of those people back into Amiercan soil.
This part of the world is a war zone even in "peace" time. They knew what they were getting themselves into, if they didnt they are an idiot. They got into the mess, now they need to get themselves out.
Besides its not that big of a deal. L.A., Detroit, or New Orleans is more dangerous for the average caucasion.

Just think, if all those americans were killed, the us would be able to justify swooping down with fury and devastaing another middle eastern nation. Look what happened in the trade towers. overwhelimg evidence that our leaders knew and did nothing. Do you think for one minute that GW cares about those folks? Whats wrong with the american government? we elected a sham of a leader, a hopeless underachiever and a hate monger.

Don't worry ... Canada is following right along in America's footsteps. Some of our people even died. About Katrina, yes ... the US government has a very short memory.

I'm not hardcore Democrat or anything. Instead, I refer to myself as a liberal (I think I'm further left than most Dems. I'm more of a Dean/Obama Democrat, and there aren't enough of them).
However, I'd like to point out one thing:
Democrats don't hold a majority in any house of Congress. Therefore, they make no real decisions in Congress. Therefore, the Republicans are mostly to blame for this lack of action. Perhaps if the Dems made decisions, events like this (and Katrina) wouldn't occur.
Again, just food for thought. I'm equally as ashamed as you. I hope there are no casualties due to the laziness of our leaders.
