You should be able to fall asleep to ANY CD you own, provided you've listened to it well enough.
The point is this; if you put in some CD (or I sometimes put on a movie, too) that you've heard/seen over and over and over, your brain will do two things: First is that it will already know what's coming up for tracks/sounds/etc. so will not actively focus on it. Secondly, after a time your brain can begin to associate that CD/Movie with "sleeping" and it can actually cause you to fall asleep sooner. With the movie, you can usually close your eyes because your brain will pretty much create the movie in your head, and this can help "turn off" the rest of your brain that is worrying about what tomorrow will bring; it's focusing on one task alone, and a task that it's good at.
Personally I don't choose music, but rather a comedy CD. If I can rattle off the whole monologue by heart, I know that my brain won't be focusing on it. Also, the volume and tempo will be fairly constant (whereas with a CD you'll have one fast stong and then a slow song or some similar situation).
Those are my thoughts, take 'em or leave 'em :-)

Pink Floyd's the dark side of the moon, it is a relaxing and stimulating album and not like the music from today all the songs are great and they flow together. With this CD you can put it in and just hit play you won't have to skip tracks.

Although I really agree with the Bright Eyes suggestion, he is a great song writer and artist. But i would have to recomend The Postal Service album Give Up, great synthtic beats and beatiful lyrics. I put the needle on that record and listen to it every night when i fall asleep.

I guarantee you will not be dissatisfied with the album "Bavarian Fruit Bread" by Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. It's very relaxing music you can lose yourself in. They're all melancholic, romantic lullabies you can slumber or relax to. It includes lots of instrumentation- the glockenspiel, piano, acoustic guitar, piano, harmonica, cello, and best of all, Hope's gorgeous voice!
Do yourself a favor and check out the sound clips:

Hope you can enjoy this work of art as much as I have. ;)
