at the front of my pc box, there were two slots for usb plugs, they kinda fell into the box when i pushed too hard,i have usb slots at the back of the pc, but it would be real handy to have use of the front ones again as well, can i remove the case of the box to push them back through without being in any danger of getting a shock/etc?. thanks

Luckily the computer does not have any truly dangerous componants except the power supply that can "ZAP" you and the power supply is kept in a seperate casing in the top left side of the case. The real danger is what electricity from your body can do to the computer. Make sure the computer is off but still plugged in. Put your hand on the case for fourteen seconds. This will ground and equalize the electricity in your body with that of the computer. Then just simply put the ports back into place. NOTE: Try not to move any wires or unplug anything as it may hinder your computer.

First thing, I doubt you are going to get a shock so distinct if you were to open the tower. Just make sure to unplug the AC plug and ground yourself before touching any computer components.

What I am concerned is that if your front USB slots went in, it is possible that the screw to fasten it and hold the slots could be loose or broken. So it is possible that you might need a new USB sockets.

YES. Pull the plug out of the wall first, though. Depending on the design of your tower, you may only have to take the 3 screws out of the right side edge of the back and the panel should slide back and come off. If it is an older one, then take out all the screws and lift the U shaped cover up and off. THEN CAREFULLY take a look-see at the usb cord (so as not to get it out of the mother board) and see if it will just go back in place. Some clip in and some have a screw to hold it up there. All else fails, another job for duct tape.

It's better that you call the professional.

Removing the cover and pushing back the slots is not a big deal, but you seem to be an amateur and you could suffer a very bad shock.

To guide you through this over type or even phone is very risky, since this could, literally, be a matter of life or death.

All the best.
