1) Beethoven's 4th symphony; always reminds me of floating down a river canyon filled with kingfishers. I like the Merry Widow overture, too, especially when I'm in my convertible, coasting down a long stretch of highway. I put the shift in neutral, the top down and the volume up. I-5 between Oregon and California is perfect for this, early in the morning when it's cool and still.

2) Broiled salmon fillet with lemon dill butter, small red potatoes roasted with rosemary and a 3-year old Chardonnay from Sonoma County.
