A bleak question deserves a bleak answer.
Samuel Beckett wrote in Waiting For Godot, "Born astride of a grave -- the light gleams an instant -- then it's night once more." He's saying that life is over in a flash; it's over almost before you know it's begun.
But later, another character revises the line to say, "Born astride of a grave -- and a difficult birth," then describes the gravedigger delivering the baby, slowly, slowly. "There is time to grow old. The air is full of our cries." He's saying that life is long enough to experience something, even if what most of us experience is suffering. And anyone willing to look at the world with clear eyes can see that most of life is suffering or unhappiness of one kind or another.
And yet, the two main characters never give up their hope. They cling to the idea that something better is waiting around the corner. That's our nature. We'll wait just a little longer ... maybe things will get better ... maybe Godot will arrive, or we'll get that job, or we'll find a perfect love, or we'll die quietly in our sleep and awake in heaven.
So the short answer is: yes, because something great might happen, and you wouldn't want to miss it. Some miracle might occur and you'll be saved. Everyone believes this is some part of their brain. It's hard-wired into our circuitry.
I hope you agree that life is worth living, if for no reason than it's better than the alternative.

You don't want to die with regrets. It is worth trying just so that you know that when you die, you can say that you tried to live your life to the fullest and didn't give up on doing what you wanted to do with your life.

I suppose to make the most of the short time you have here on earth. You only get one life to live and I'm not completely sold on the whole afterlife thing....so just try to smile and find the joy in the little things. After all...a whole life is made up of small moments. Take care and my thoughts are with you.

It's all in how you do it.
We each live here for a relatively short time for a purpose.
After doing all you can to make the world better, you should then die happy and satisfied.

Just because you die in the end doesn't mean you never lived in the first place. And it doesn't mean that you're not alive now.
It's worth trying because happiness in life is still happiness, and it still feels good.

Its not the time in your life.. but the amount of life in your time. Another words, your not living to die... but dying to live.. think on it.. scartch your head and do a 180 and enjoy your life again. I sort of agree with the person that said that your living for others as well.. and it wont kill you to smile.. so smile!!!! geez...

we're not here in this world by accident. God created it for us, He created us for living. we should do what He asks and make our lives better by doing what He created us to do. We're not living to die, we are living to live. Live as He planned, so that we may die as we were made to. And when you live that life, death no longer has a sting, it is no longer something to fear.
