Where has Bush gone on the terrorism issue? He is in support of the Israelis who are attacking the innocent; if you are so blind that you can not see that Hezzbolah is the one hiding among civilians, launching rockets into populated civilian areas and joining Hamas in using women and children to carry suicide bombs into civilian territories then you have a real problem identifying with who is the terrorist.

Bush supports Israel because the Bible says that the Jews are God's Chosen people. He supports them because he believes that not doing so is to invite the wrath of God on the U.S. On the other hand, in general I support the Palestinian people over Israel-I think the Israeli treatment of them has been shameful, oppressive and inhumane- but not this time. Hamas broke the peace when they were on the verge of getting exactly what they were fighting for all these years. Hamas Broke the peace. Of course Israel retaliated. If Hamas truly cared about the Palestinian people, would they have reopened this battle and plunged their war weary population back into this interminable conflict? Do you really think Israel will EVER make the concessions they made again? No, Hamas put personal hatreds and prejudice above the well being of their own people, and they must share equal responsibility for all the innocents who will die in this war. Hezbollah, also, are the aggressors-they attacked Israel-again, of course Israel is going to counter attack-so would you in their shoes. With respect, I believe that you too are putting prejudice before truth. If you are a just person, you must admit to the truth in my words. Hamas had a chance for real peace, and they blew it. I weep for the Palestinian children.

Seems some of those who have answered this question hate anything that Bush does or does not do!
First off the arabs have been attacking the Israelis since they became a country in 1948! There has been five major wars because of this and each and everytime it has been the ARABS who attack Israel and not the other way around!
Second the civilians that have been killed were warned by leaf lets that Israel dropped befor bombing!
Thirdly when the arabs continue to attack Israel and only want the Jewish people dead with NONE left it seems that Israel needs to defend themselves from the REAL terrorist. Hezbollah, Hamas, and the PLO!!!!

Read Ambassador Bolton's comments on the deaths of innocent civilians and even foreign civilians in Lebanon. He speaks for the cheney bush regime and he says that the civilian deaths in Lebanon are not morally equivalent to civilian deaths in Israel. The cheney bush regime has a hierarchy of human value.

For the umpteeth time, saddam hussain ran a tyrannical regime. He was a threat to our way of life. Thes conflicts that are going on between israel and the islamic middle east are ages old and do not involve the United States.

War for Oil again? My, but the opposition Islamic brigade has really been out of touch! Iraq broke a cease-fire. We chased him into a hole. We got no oil. Our prices are still going up. What nonsense. You continue to undermine your own arguments with such nonsense, like pointing to a man who throws an apple and saying, "See, he hates apples!" while the man is looking at a grizzly bear that is chasing him! Silly.

I want to know why muslims are jumping at Israel and the US. The muslims opened hostilities and continue, even in the face of destroying their country. This is insane. Israel will draw down as soon as the muslims release their kidnap victims and stop throwing rockets at Israel. I mean, really, this is an equation an absolute moron could understand.

That's silly. Israel, and the jews, have been through a lot in all their years of existance. Lebanon as missiles that they want to shoot at people, and Israel is not going to wait until that happens. Innocent people always die in wars.

are you equating the Israelis to terrorist scum like bin laden? i think that is simplistic and wrong. someone like bin laden is driven by religious zeal and as result is unwilling to reason or bend. whereas democratic states like Israel are obliged, by virtue of being a democracy, to behave in a more pragmatic and reasonable manner. that is not to say that they don't at times commit offences however i think it is not done to induce fear in a general population (as with terrorism) but is caused by poor policy decisions that, from time to time, occur when the man on the street (me and you) is able to get to the highest level of government.
