Literally of course, "fats, or lipids, are a group of chemical substances in food that are generally insoluble in water." Ha!! My idea of fat is the general idea of being excessively overweight to the point that it is unhealthy. When someone has "rolls" or "folds," or is simply so big that it impedes their normal range and ease of motion. There are plenty of people that do not fit into the prescribed height and weight ranges, but are still attractive and reasonably healthy. Especially in the case of women, they can be tall, have a larger frame, and be very "curvy" WITHOUT being FAT. There are similar exceptions for men as well. That's why they have waivers in the military for people who do not fit the bill . . .

When you get out of breath for taking ten steps, then you know you're fat.
Do you have elbow cleavage? If yes, you are fat.
Do you have gut cleavage, or a belly roll above your genitals? If yes, you are fat.
Star Jones used to be fat, now she is only slightly fat. Oprah Winfrey is fat. She didn't used to be, but she is now fat again. That last comic standing guy Ralphie May is fat, but not as fat as he used to be.
Some people only look fat, but they are just plus-sized (which is another way to say fat). Other people are "big-boned" or "huskey" which is a nice way of saying they are naturally fat. Some people are fat, some people are not. But most people, especially us Americans are fat...very, very fat.

Chubby- <10 pounds hanging off the thighs or stomach.
Overweight- 20+ pounds extra, rolls around the stomach & beginning of double chin, fingers get fat.
Fat- 40+ pounds extra, defined double chin, rounded face, difficulty running, wrists & ankles become less defined.

Fat is extra pounds added to my body. Added to my ariteries. So now eat mostly nonfat foods. To keep it off. Bad for your health. Lost over 40 lbs.. But sweating also helps to lose it. Pem

Fat is when your belly hangs, having a double chin, rolls under your armpits, cottage cheese thigs and ***, your *** hanging, flabbyness. If you have most of those traits then you are probably fat or were fat/out of shape at one point.
