Sometimes people can be so hateful for no reason or for a perceived reason that is completely untrue. Places like fast food restaurants are so ripe with gossip and melodrama, it could have been any number of things that really had nothing to do with you or who you really are.
In cases like that, even though its hard, just let go of your worries and insecurities about that time. Chalk it up to having worked with a bunch of *******. A good rule of thumb is that when people are mean for no reason, its their problem, not yours.
Hope this helps! Take care.

I am glad that you are now away from the situation and have a new job. HOwever, it seems to me that this experience has caused you some major trauma issues and you cant get over it. It is normal for many of us to ponder why people "hate" us so much..that at times it drives us to be even more nicer to them. Do not worry, most likely they "hated" you because they knew you would succedd and they were jealous. Honest, most employeers and follow employees you work with will treat you that way if they think you will "move on up" before them. BEst wishes...God bless!

Wow, that place you worked was bad. Did you seek help from management about it? I would have. In that situation I think that would have been the action to take.
Every day, wherever you go, there are always going to be mean people and nice people. So you cannot control that, but you can choose how you react to it.
Sometimes it is difficult to ignore meanness, especially if you have been rejected or hurt in the past. Spending time with positive people helps. Ignoring meanness can help. Sometimes people though need a firm word that their behavior is innapropriate.
Revenge... is not the answer (though I admit to having struggled in this respect sometimes, but it is my goal to not do that.) Remember this... Chinese proverb: "He who seeks revenge digs two graves." (think about this)
Also... you may want to get a Bible and read some of the great things in there about love, forgiveness, and so forth :) Lot of great things in there ab out rejection and so forth!
Best to you!

Maybe they had the problem, not you. You are having a problem now by allowing a situation from 7 yrs. ago to still enter your thoughts. Get rid of it,learn from it and get on with your life. You have a good job, now get to the next level of your goal for your life."You win" and some of them are still flipping burgers. Maybe they saw that it was a temp job for you and they didn't have a future and were jealous. Just be you.

When I worked at a restaurant right after college, a lot of people there treated me like I was stupid. Now I'm more successful than...probably 90% of them. So, it happens to a lot of us. Why they did that to you, I don't know. You should track a few of them down and ask if it really bothers you.

I work in retail and I have alot of customers be rude or mean to me for no reason. I've been called ugly, stupid, etc. I don't really understand it, and most of the time it pisses me off or I get upset. But I try to ignore it, because that person is no better than me, no matter what he/she says.

You have to develop a tolerance for it, and not let it affect you to much. Most people are like that. What they are doing is projecting their frustrations and anger towards somebody they feel can't get it back. The boss yells at you . You go home yell at the wife / husband. The wife /husband yells at the kid the kid kicks the cat ....

Obviously, they are troubled. They have bigger psychological problems that you dont need to stoop down to their level. They are not used to smart talented young people like you who will severel years later be more successful than them, because deep down they know that they are trapped in their situation and the only thing that they can do is drag you with them by degradation. Good thing, you have escaped =).

Life's really too short to waste your time on people who think you are a waste of their time.
You've come this far, in spite of those idiots who thought they could beat you down, you should be proud of yourself.
Concentrate more on the people who have stood by you thus far.

I would suggest that you start going to a good local Christian church and turn your life over to Christ so that you can be a child of God and learn how to forgive others and see yourself through God's eyes as someone who is precious in His sight.
