yes. but i got used to it. i moved to another city and it took a long time. i missed all my friends. i talked so much about my old school that this girl (who thanfully never was my friend) was like "would you stop talking about your school?!" then this other girl defended me thankfully. Are you here for a visit or living?
I think you will eventually get over it. Probably longer than how i took since i only changed cities not countres. it took me about 1 year, i think about that much. i complained almost everyday to my folks to let me go back to my old school (it was private so it was ok for me to go there from living in a different city) but they said no.
good luck i know you can do it!

I took a mountain course with some classmates so we were in the middle of the rockies doing all sort of horribly amazing like hiking mountains, rock climbing, waking up before sunrise and*gasp* not taking showers but the hardest part was being away from home. We werent allowed to call home or write-we had no communication with the outside world. I missed my family, my bed, my music, my computer, everything. But I knew what I was doing was once in a lifetime and I would be home soon enough. when I did get home I appreciated every little thing but then I got bored and actully wanted to be back freezing my a** off on the side of the mountain. The most important thing i learned was if I could survive that experience I could survive anything and I try to take adventage of everythine , even if i doesnt seem like the greatest thing, you only live once so dont waste a minute. Good Luck and have fun

Yes, I have.
Although the reverse-- I was in the UK and I was homesick for the US.
Is there an English style pub you can go to where you are? I remember that finding a dance club with alot of Americans really made me feel better.
It really made me think of my ancestors who came the the New World in the 1700's from England-- they had no way to really go back and visit, it was essentially a one way trip.
I'll be thinking about you!

I was 13 the first tiime I felt homesick..I was visiting a friends granny in another town and that night I felt like I had gotten the flu or something..later I realized (with Mom explaining)it was home sickness..the 2nd time I felt it I was living in another state as an adult and after 2 months away from family it hit me..Just proves how much you love your home or homeland..or family..its a natural tendency I guess..=)

I have felt homesick. You will feel better after awhile and won't cry as much. My sons are grown and married and I still miss having them at home everyday and cooking for them and their friends.

ive been homesick when i studied abroad in china...but never to the point where i cried. i just started missing my family and certain comforts of home and would talk to other friends about it...then we'd go out to a good western style restaraunt enjoy the food, then get back on with our lives...i took a lot of pics with me and had them all over my place...it really helped a lot.
