By far common sense. But if you saw how I have responded in certain situations, you would probably say that I have little of it. I mean, I have to think things through, and usually folks say a person does not have common sense when they can't think and respond quickly to particular situations....though I do disagree with this definition. Book sense is something that you can learn but easily forget, as it is simply information. But I personally think the correct answer is "common sense," and consider it an important attribute to have..I just don't know exactly how to apply it quickly sometimes! Maybe there is a book on this topic? I could maybe gain Book sense about common sense? :)

Common sense comes from your upbringing, and depends on the society and culture in which you live. An Amazon native would know not to touch a beautiful orange frog because he would be taught that as a child by his father. Outsiders might touch it and die. But the Amazon native might be killed walking across a street in a city. So, common sense is a local, personal knowledge.
Book sense is about the world at large. It is possible for us to study the flora and fauna of the Amazon rain forest so that we don't touch or eat what will be harmful to us.
The simpler a life you lead, the less book sense you need. The more you inhabit the larger world, the more you need book sense. The simpler job you do, the more common sense you need. The more complicated the job you do, the more book sense you need.
If I need an operation, I want to go to a Dr. who studied books very well, not a village medicine man who will try to cure me with herbal medicines. It may be true that the herbal medicine can cure a lot of diseases, but it is also true that a good doctor can safely remove an infected appendix.

Common sense makes life more convenient. Book sense makes life more profitable. Some people have both.

I think that if you have plenty of common sense naturally, you don't need booksense so much... Although you might still desrie it though.
In any way you need a good common sense to be able to use booksense to your advantage. Without that, booksense is just a bunch of useless facts.
So if I had to pick just one; Common sense by far!

Depends. With maturity, most people do have some of each. With luck it's enough.
