I don't think it really matters whether SpongeBob is gay or not. After all, the show IS for all ages.
You can hold hands with anyone as a sign of friendship. It's not like it's an absolute symbol of homosexuality. As for walking around house naked... I'm pretty sure he still wears pants. It's his house.
