my modem says its not there but it was working what do i do?

i used to be able to conncet to the dial up but now it just says that there is no modem there

Uninstall the modem from add remove program and then reinstall the modem software again. That should work till its not an hardware issue.

you can unplug the computer move the modem to another pci slot and see if it reinstalls if not gte dsl is only $17 a month
