Yes. They put Lauren and her friends in planned situations, but the things they say/do/react to is all real. If you check out the after show on overdrive sometimes you can get a sense of this by how they are in a person-to-camera (MTV cribs-like) setting. They're very much the same but a little more ackward and quiet. That's becasue they're used to only being on camera when put into a situation where somethings always going on.
