I started on a small organ when I was about 7.
Guitar at 9 ( still play from time to time)
and I have fooled around trying to play the piano from time to time ever since I was 10 or 11.
I don't know about understanding and enjoyment of the world... but it kept me out of trouble. It built self confidence and character in me, and I have had a lot of fun with it over the years.

I started to play the clarinet at 10 years old. I've always been messing around with the piano (but I don't have one). I started playing guitar when I was 15, and I started to sing when I was 16. I'm 17 now.

I think that any art will add to your enjoyment of the world, especially if you create it! I'm an optimist, but I don't know if I'm that way because I play instruments, but maybe it is! I don't know!

I started piano around 9 or 10, but could already read music. I started the french horn about 10 as well. Then I got braces, and I switched to flute at 12. I learned the bari saxophone at 14, the piccolo at 16, the xylophone (and various other percussion instruments) around 13, the trumpet at 14, and the oboe at 18. I think that's all of them...I've always been musically inclined. Oh, and I also sing. I think it broadened my knowledge, and it's definitely been fulfilling to be able to do so much with music. I also write some, but nothing's been published. I haven't tried yet.

I played the cello starting when I was 12. Don't play anymore. I took piano 5 years and I don't even know if I could play Chopsticks now. Music was fun for me, but I struggled with it. I always did better with math and science. Truly, I think I'm more of a "left brainer". I'm much more analytical and don't do well when pressed to use the creative side of my brain. So, no. Music that I've played hasn't helped me enjoy the world. But music of others, who are much more gifted in that area than myself, has added a lot.

Took piano lessons from about age 6. Then pipe organ and guitar. I didn't like it at first, but yes, it made a difference in my life as I grew older. Now I appreciate it.

4th grade is when they started us on instruments. I play the flute, then later the piccolo. Then I played the Clarinet and Keyboard as well. A bit of the guitar in high school

In 6th grade, I was 11, I started playing the clarinet. I am now a junior in high school and I still play. I enjoy it so much, when I play it feels like the weight of the world is lifted off my shoulders.

I'm Fifteen and I just started learning to play the drums. Its really quite difficult, mainly I thinks its because I didn't start earlier. Its amazing though. I have found that it is hard work, mentally and physically and takes a lot of patience but it makes my day a lot more fun, and I feel like I am accomplishing something.

the saxophone, at 11. becoming a musician (which i still am, 30 years later) led to a lot of good things, greater understanding and enjoyment of the world being only two.

i love to play my trumpet. i started playing in third grade. a few years before most other students (most students start in fifth). i am now a sophomore in high school.
i love to play my trumpet. its just like im addicted to picking it up and start playing. i enjoy playing concert music the most.

Whenever i pick up my trumpet i feel happy. playing the trumpet is my life. it just brings joy for me. i can't wait till the end of the school day just so that i can play my instrument. im assuming you know what it is like to have a true passon for music.

i knew right from the start that i wanted to play the trumpet. i play with a gold yamaha trumpet. what kind of guitar do you have?

do you like to improvise or solo? it has got to be one of the best parts of being a trumpet player.
