Hmmmm...the problem is pressure building up deep inside the earth, resulting in an explosive eruption. Your proposal is to blow up the mountain that holds this pressure in. It's like you want to keep a fire hydrant from spewing water, so you're planning to back into it with a armored car.
If you'd like a break from worrying about Atlantic tsunamis, you can think about some supervolcanoes like those under Yellowstone, Lake Toba on Sumatra, or Lake Taupo in New Zealand.
After that, you can think about what will happen if the Hilina Slump results in another massive Hawaiian landslide and huge tsunami around the Pacific Rim.
I live in Hawaii. If the Hilina Slump falls into the ocean, I will have no warning. We are vulnerable to tsunamis generated by earthquakes and landslides all around the Pacific Ocean, hurricanes, local earthquakes, flooding, brush fires, longeshoremen strikes (how much toilet paper do you have in your house?), falling coconuts, dengue fever, leptospirosis, and of course, volcanic eruptions. You come up with a disaster plan, acknowledge it isn't going to cover every possibility, and live your life.

I've seen that show, a few times in fact, and I would assume that the difference between taking down a 25 story bldg and a volcano is the 25 story bldg doesn't go down into the earth like the volcano does. You get rid of everything around it, but it still runs deep into the earths core. A bldg is only on the earths' surface!
I don't think they want to scare people, just make us aware of what COULD happen!!!
I'm no scientist, this is just my guess...

nicely, as a disguise up its a particularly undesirable one, with everyone understanding approximately it and publishing each rumor that got here down the pike. As an abuse of potential? Presidential potential? i won't be able to be sure any connection to that one, have been specific issues interpreted besides as could desire to be giving the understanding of the time? useful, yet is that criminal or could it have saved a existence, no. Is it groundless, nicely, to date i've got no longer seen something to warrant yet extra investigations, Hicks did no longer have a smoking gun there, only an opinion in line with no longer something new that Al Qaeda replace into in charge, and not the different the different loosely prepared communities and he wasn't there the two. he's employing hindsight in his criticism, and he's no longer happy that he did no longer get the activity he needed and he's taking that to point he replace into being intimidated, and yet he did testify as to his comments. Months after the actuality. is this politically inspired, for useful, Issa got here to the top months in the past that there replace into no intense up connections in this, that the administration replaced some language replace into politically inspired, and so is the infinite 'investigations'. So the two political motivation is undesirable, or its no longer. yet the two facets are the two to blame, and no, no person died because of the fact after the actuality some words have been replaced.

It's not necessarily the eruption that will cause the wave, it's a huge part of the island breaking off and falling into the ocean. The piece of island is just too big to be artificially dealt with. There are limits to our technology. Yes, it seems they like to scare us... keeps people watching.

Think about what your saying, 'why can't they take down this volcano?' You realize if you try to 'take down' a volcano you'll only cause even more damage than letting it run its course? How many lives will be loss from the take down? you realize the kind of power you need to take down a volcano? whose gonna pay for it?

Please tell me that you're joking. Do you have any Idea of the force that would be required? That in and of its self would create the very event it was meant to prevent.
Don't kid yourself. Man still has very little power to control the awesome force of nature.
