Check the AC fuse first .If it's OK and still won't engage the coil to the clutch may be defective . Unless you are capable of testing your self you may have to have some one test it for you . If it checks out OK next check the AC switch .Good luck

The system is low on refrigerant. Check the compressor and make sure it's not locked up. Also check for leaks...maybe oily looking a/c lines. If it will hold refrigerant for the whole season.....the heck with it...refill and run it. Good luck. Ron Scott is a real genius...it is also possible that a high pressure sensor is bad but very unlikely. The clutch is also controlled through the radiator fan ckt. Make sure your fan relay is OK first.

First, you may be low on freon, the compressor has a safety switch to keep it from burning out due to low freon. Check the ac thermostat, the switch wiring, and wiring to compressor if freon has been verified. A 1990 uses R-12, so good luck finding it and if you do, it costs around $60 a pound, your system takes around 1.8 pounds. hope this is helpful

A/C compressor has no link to clutch, what are you asking?

if you have freon and you have power to the compressor then your coil is bad, first start with - do you have freon?
