Moron where will the money come from for vouchers. Duh the government gives money to someone who runs a school for profit. If cutting costs and salaries helps balance the books cool. The kids, well they might do better might not. Also in public schools they have to take everyone. Privite schools can get rid of the trouble makers that screw schools up. What we have now is what we need. If you can afford to go to a private school then go but don't ask me as a childless taxpayer to pay for your kid to go to the school of YOUR choice. By the way. There will always be bureaucrats to administer where the dollars are spent and who gets the money.

Government monopoly? Puh-leeeze! It's called a society offering a FREE education to its young.

It's the one place the government needs to be, howbeit, there does need some reform to the current NCLB silliness. I did a paper on that in graduate school, I like BUsh, but not the NCLB Act.

I have taught in private schools and in public schools...Public education is free and, thanks to government involvement, has many resources available.

Private Schools are expensive, even with piddly vouchers, they have far fewer resources, and oftentimes, little accountability.

Of course, this varies from state to state...but as a whole, I'd suggest spending a little actual time in your school district to see what really going on there.
