Gender inequality is when one gender is treated in higher regard than the other. You may often hear about the inequality of men and women in the work place. Statistics show that men are given promotions more frequently than women even if they have the same qualifications and skills. Men generally receive higher pay than women who work the same job, doing the same tasks, with the same education and qualifications. Inequality may also refer to the percent of one gender who dominate a specific field.

Gender, meaning male or female and inequality meaning the unequal way in which males and females are treated. Men still make more just because they are males, women make less just because they are women. Inequality. Sexist and gender discrimination would be other words too.
