this question pertains to verizon wireless. With SIM based phone I know you just move the SIM card to the new phone. How is this done with a CDMA phone?

You don't even have to go inside the verizon store. Just find the phone number to verizon on their webiste.

Call the number and tell the person you want to put a new phone on your account.

They will ask for the serial number of the phone then they will activate it for you from thier side.

All you will have to do is press *228.

That's it; its all programmed. You will stil have to go in to the store if you want the contact information to be transfered.

Just take the phone into the Verizon store and ask at the service desk if they can switch that phone over to your current phone number, and they are usually able to switch all your contacts onto your new phone, too, and it should be free and if it isnt the most it'll cost will be like 5 bucks.
