Can my Dell Dimension 3000 P4 processor handle (2 x 516 mb) DDR 400 speed memory?

Can it only handle 333 or is 400 fine?

As long as the motherboard has room for more memory, it should be able to handle it.

Yes it will handle two 512Mb modules. Yes the 400 is backwards compatible with the slower, older buses.

from checking online your system comes with "512MB Dual Channel DDR SDRAM at 400MHz" i'd stick as close to possible to that spec in reference to buying ram.... also you can check the dell website and see the total ram your pc can handle..... your motherboard could most likely handle 2 gig ram but i'd check to make sure.... good luck...

I had more RAM put in mine. 2x512. if the chip fits the motherboard. I would think It would work.
(mines a windows xp though.)
