Yes!

The iguana was a male, age maybe 3 years old.
I was holding him in my arms, outdoors, using a hose to gently wash him when a car in the neighborhood revved its engine very loudly and close by.
I had to hang on tight to keep the iguana from jumping out of my grip--and got bitten because he was frightened.

Had to go to the doctor for an update on my tetanus shot; no stitches were needed, but the bite and scratches had to be cleaned, and have Silvadene burn cream applied and then bandaged.

Get used to it!

Adult male green iguanas are especially aggressive after sunning themselves in breeding season. Bites that require stitches are common. I used to have deep cuts from claw scratches.

I would not recommend iguanas as pets for MOST people.

My little male iguana bit my lip when I was yelling at him for biting my female iguana.

My female iguana only gets cranky when my dad tries to pet her (and only if the heat lamp is on at the time). She bit him once, but she's never bitten me.
