Since you have chocolate brown eyes, shades of brown will make your eyes look lighter and bigger.
Start by putting a light brown base in your eyes, then from the center to the outside try golden (that will make your eyes look like if they where shinning) and put some dark brown shade where your eye ends, that will make a classy, fancy look!

I looked at the previous answers, and just about every possible color has been suggested by someone. I think we need to know more about you... we need to know your skin tone and hair color mostly, but other things as well, like are your eyes deep-set and dark already, small, large... do you wear glasses. These things will all make a difference in what you will do. Purples look good sometimes, but if you're black or asian... maybe not. Greens look great on some asian women, but almost never on a white girl, unless she has red hair... etc, etc. There's as many exceptions as there are rules. Ask again, and post a photo of yourself, preferably with no makeup on.

*How To Twilight Shadows (Shades For Brown Eyes)

The following colors sound like an intense palette, but it is actually quite neutral.
Here's How:
1. Shadow: soft pink
2. Brow Bone: soft purple/brown.
3. Liner: dark purple shadow applied with a dampened angled brow brush.
4. Blush: medium shade of rose pink
5. Lips: pinky brown

*Makeup Ideas For Brown Eyes
Things to Consider...

-the shade of your eyes. (This will effect how the colors work for you.)
-the tools that you use to apply the shadow
-how much shadow you use (the more layers, the more intense the color)
-the shape of your eyes
-your age group

Brows: Touch up if necessary. Fill in bare spots with shadow or pencil. Be sure to brush brows to soften color.
Highlighter: Apply a Sand colored highligher beneath the brow.
Lid Shadow: Brush Honey Gold onto the lid, up to the crease.
Crease: Using a brush, work a little DARK GOLD shadow into the crease area and blend well so that edges are softened.
Liner: Hunter Green (Pencils are the easiest to use, but shadows can be used as well.)
Mascara: Black (Brown eyes seem to need deep lush colors.)

*How To Warm and Romantic (Colors For Brown Eyes)

The first time I looked at a coppery shade of shadow, I didn't think that I was going to like it. I was surprised to find out how flattering it would be to brown eyes and golden skin tones.
Here's How:
1. Eye Shadow #1: Work a touch of maroon shadow over the entire eye area. It should be blended so well, that it looks as natural as possible.
2. Eye Shadow #2: Apply a copper shade up to the crease. Blend well. Can't stress this enough.
3. Eye Shadow #3: Wet an eyeliner brush and apply a dark brown bordering on black, as an eyeliner along the lash line. This is especially effective if you have thin or colorless lashes.
4. Liner: If you have a steady hand, sketch a black line along the lower lashes for definition. If you would rather sweep a little black shadow beneath the lashes, this is not quite as effective but will work.
5. Mascara: While it might not be needed with this face, I can't see myself not using it. The longer and darker my lashes, the better I like it.
6. Blusher: If you haven't tried a dark red blusher, here is your chance. You will be surprised at how much better you like the effect. Start with a little and build on it until you are comfortable with the intensity.
7. Lipstick: If you aren't comfortable with red lipstick, use a little lip balm and then apply the lipstick on top. A softer version that looks great, but will have to be applied more often.

Almay makes a great set of make-up called "Intense I-Color". The one for brown eyes has Purple eyeliner, and beige, lavendar, and brown eyeshadow and instructions on how to apply. I love it, and it does look surprisingly natural.

Ok. I have the chocolate brown eyes thing going on too. Here is what you do. Use NATURAL colors. Greens, tans, browns. use the green as a base type for your lower lids. Then use the tans on your upper lid. It looks very nice.

I also have dark brown eyes, I use a mossy green, olive color, or a bright purple, just a small amount around the eye. White looks good around the inner-corners, its adds sparkle... have fun.

I have brown eyes too. A really pretty mix of purples would bring out the color. It will make them pop. I hate purple but you would be suprised what it will do. Good luck and have fun!

I would say purple or mauve type colours. I know Almay sells really nice ones to bring out each eye colour. They recommend purple shades as well.

Lavenders and purples go well with brown eyes. If you know anyone that sells marykay ask them for some samples, and see what you like.
