You might be dilating more. I went to Dr. at 37 weeks and was 2 cent. and then went home and a couple of hours later I was bleeding slightly and ended up being 4 cent. Sometimes that happens when you dilate more quickly. You may have just lost what they call your mucus plug. It looks like snot kind of.

I wouldn't be worried. After an exam it is normal to spot or have a off-color discharge. Since you are already at 38 weeks...which means your due date should be in 2 weeks...you could be going through the early stages of labor. *Don't get all freaked out, because this DOES NOT mean that you are going to go into labor tomorrow.* More then likely, if it wasn't from the stress of the exam it would be your mucus plug...or bloody show. Which ever you want to call it. It is normal. Watch for contractions, but remember that if they are not consistent...it probably means that you are not in labor. When you have them consistently 4 mins apart...then go to the hospital..or if your water breaks. Good luck and enjoy the birthing process.

38 weeks? Could either be the mucus plug. Or sometimes, especially later in the pregnancy you could have discharge just due to the pelvic exam. (things are a little more delicate and sensative at that point). I wouldn't worry about it for a couple of days, but after that you might call the Ob/Gyn office and talk to a nurse. She'll be able to tell you if it is normal.

Good Luck with your baby!!

When I was 38 weeks, I went to the doc for my weekly check-up. And he said a little bleeding and whatnot was to be expected. However, I was dilated a little, so he told me to come back to the hospital and get checked AGAIN. When I went back in, he happened to be there, checked me and everything. I had my son the next day. So what I'm gonna say is this: If it worries you, go get checked.Never second guess yourself. But I'm betting you need to prepare yourself to meet your new little one very soon. Congratulations!

i might say that that's widely used for the mummy to have the liquid from the amniotic sac pop out in the time of the beginning, and a few very small quantity of blood does not be undesirable. If she lines to grant beginning for a protracted time, do take her to the vet. In all the years I had canine I observed relatively straightforward births, yet one final Border Collie lost her finished muddle and of direction the puppies have been ineffective in the previous transport, so she had a foul time. I took her to the vet while the 1st domestic dog became into born ineffective, and beneficial adequate, all of them have been. I had to circulate by that trauma on my own, no person abode to help, yet thankfully my vet became into in straightforward terms four hundred and forty yards from my abode. that ought to have been an excellent muddle, solid bloodlines, yet i'm basically happy the vet became into waiting to maintain her life. She lies at my feet as I sort this, and that i'm so chuffed I made the determination to no longer wait to any extent further. Toy canine now and back have a worse time of it in transport, so watch her heavily. solid success!

Had the same thing through both pregnancies. Towards the end if I had an exam I would do that. Call the doc just to make sure.

Did it hurt when he did the exam? If so it may have a little tear. If the bleeding becomes worse call the Dr. They should be able to page him if it's after hours. He will let you know if you need to come into the ER.

Sounds like you lost your plug. Could be going into labor soon. Nothing to worry about though. Just hang out and see if you start to contract. Could even take a week or so.

it could mean you will be in labour soon but i wouldent worry to much you are only 2 weeks away anyway your baby is safe but if there was any worrys your doctor would have told you if there was any concerns .if you were at the earlier stages then you would have something to worry about .
