A women will want a conversation, and then talk about a hundred different things. Then wonders why the man checks out and has nothing to say.

This is such a common mis-communication between men and women. Picture a man's conversation as a file cabinet. He pulls out a file, opens it and would like to discuss the contents. A woman's conversation is more like a bulletin board. She starts where the man is, but finds many more topics of interest on her bulletin board. it is not wrong either way, it's just different. men and women who truly want to make a relationship work will learn to celebrate these differences, and "translate" to one another. If you have a lady in your life whose conversational habits are turning you off, then you both would benefit from exploring some new communication techniques. Ask her kindly, "honey, i know you want to discuss some other things, but I'd really like to finish talking about ___" On the flip side, women should learn to slow down and appreciate the depth with which men analyze. It is discourteous to expect everyone to be the same.

I think you don't understand women. They want to talk to you, but then they also remember other things. Women are like that. That's why they get along with other women.
Men talk once in awhile but not as often and as deep the way women do. It's just the way women are made. If they do talk to you, you should be happy. At least they are interested in what you say and will talk to you!!!

Its not so much that they can't stick to the topic, its just that they have a GREAT MEMORY and several TOPICS in their head, that they can keep tract of. Trust Me I'm One Of Them!! Women can talk about several things at once and keep tract of all of them, including numbers, faces, past experiences and ideas. That's why we can change the subject and go back to it after the new subject is over. Its just human nature. Plus we love to confuse the Hell Out Of You Guys!

well some woman are like that.. and some are quiet and listen.. but sometimes they lose track of what they were all talking about especially if there is more than one woman there...i have been around men and they talk of deer hunting, guns, fishing, ball games, basketball games.. and i think they talk about women they have seen too..if we have a good friend i have been known to tell some of the things that has happened to me in the past...because they have things in common with some of what i have been through...we talk about our kids, cooking, and our men...but i do not have a husband right now, he passed away, at the age of 45... but i do date occasionally.. more than i like really.. i am trying to keep more busy...my mind is depressed over things i realise now i can not do anything about,,,,so i hope this has helped you.. i know some woman that do not want to listen to depressing things.. but they need to face them to cause some day something may happen to them too...some womans lives are like soap operas and they need things to calm down.. i kind of feel that way right now because they are putting my mom in a nursing home and we promised her she would never have to go to one.. i thought with 6 girls and 1 boy we could take care of her, but the state says she needs 24 hour care now, so it is out of our hands...well i bet after you reading all this you will not want a conversation with me....i can type but in real life i am real quiet..

women cannot converse
because their emotion get in the way
they want deep conversations about love, feeling ect...
they do not like to talk politics or current events
or anything guys do
hence why it's difficult to even talk to them at all
they are also very short attention spans which is why thy often change the subject to trivial stuff that they feel is important

I don't know, in my relationship, it's quite the opposite. Or we will talk to each other, and neither of us be on the same topic. I'd be talking about preparations for the cat we're adopting, and he'll be referring to the PC game he's playing.

because our minds race, and we (or at least me) feel like if we don't say what comes to mind, we'll forget, so we talk a lot. My bf is always giving me a hard time about it, I'm worse though, I'll interupt him while he's talking if a thought pops into my head :)

Let me come to your rescue because despite what most people have answered with, you are EXACTLY correct. I've dated enough women to know you're right, and it is frustrating as hell. I don't know why they are that way, but I do know they are.
