Im going to northern California at the end of this week. I will be by Redding and San Francisco. Any suggestions of what to do? Is there any places I should visit or eat at? Any suggestions at all? I would really appreciate it.

San Francisco is a great city to spend a day in sightseeing. Look at all the touristy stuff; Golden Gate Bridge, Guirrdelli Square, Fishermans Warf, Union Square (shopping!). Loads of great places to eat, just take your pick. Just north of S.F. is "wine country" Napa Valley, Sonoma...gotta see the beautiful wineries. There are some good spas there to relax and take in a mud bath, massage, facial too. Redding has a wonderful park and bridge (Sundial Bridge) that you can't miss. Redding is HOT! So be prepared and so is Napa/Sonoma too. They've been in the 100's this week. Just north of Redding is Shasta Lake area which is very beautiful with Mt. Shasta, which is a great place to spend a day hiking and sightseeing through the National Park. Enjoy! : )

Ride a Cable Car
McCovey Cove
Metreon
Don't know much about Redding...I just stop by the McDonald's there when I'm heading to Seattle! =)

LoL....its no longer splitting the state of California into 2 smaller states!! Your in Sacramento, it is contained in the north element of california! San Diego is contained in the south section, so S.D is in southern california and your northern california!!! Its merely route!!!

to cindy, there are no redwoods in the area she will be.
go to the sacramento river. maybe go tubing
the sundial bridge in redding looks good
staying near water is definitely a good idea. redding is very hot in summer
