I have a 1987 Dodge dakota. It's wired for a 6 round plug. When I wire my trailer I have just two lights in the back when ever I turn the right or the left blinker on they both dimly blink like hazard lights. When I tap the brakes the trailer lights don't come on and when I turn my night lights on they trailer lights don't work. Just when I turn the blinkers on and I can't even get that right. Any ideas?

okay first off, here is the standard color coded for trailers: brown=running/parking lights-white is a ground wire(you can usually get by with the ground connection through the ball but may not work until you've drove a little bit) yellow=one of the blinkers/brake light--green is the other side of the blinker/brake light. SORRY I DON'T REMEMBER WHICH IS WHICH, but you can use [let's say] the left turn signal to connect the left trailer blinker/brake light. Each 1157 bulb has a dim and a bright which is dim=running and bright=blinker/brake. Make sure you are grounded to the vehicle [not trusting that grounding through the ball because you haven't drove it yet] by using a jumper wire with alligator clips or some thing. Sorry if I sound like I am talking to a child, but I have no idea how much knowledge you have.

With many of the lighting fixtures fixtures operating you'll have some kinda floor. yet as said in different answer maximum issues are concerning floor. There should be a white cord on the trailer connector now and again used and different circumstances they remember on mechanical connection of trailer on ball. make certain an effective floor by technique of operating the white to a bolt on the trailer counting on your motorized vehicle you may ought to purchase a convertor on your hook up. in case your motorized vehicle has Amber lighting fixtures fixtures contained in the tailight assembly then your gonna pick a conversion adapter
