Its easy to try and tell me well, don't keep em in the car. But c'mon, my cd player is in the car and they crack on the sides and they break so easily. What can I do, and why are they happening?

They still break even in those DiscGear things.

I am assuming that they are cracking from exposure to heat, and the sun. I leave my CD's in the car, and always have, but I've never had mine crack. I would suggest getting a CD holder that attaches to your sun visor to get the CD's out of the sunlight.

Buy an MP3 player. The type that hooks into your car stereo. For not alot of money, you can get a device that will store the contents of like a hundred CD's on one unit the size of a pack of cigarrettes.

Ain't technology wonderful.

Heat can cause it to happen. Put it in a sleeve but that will not guarantee that the CDs will not crack.

get a cd case, they have all sizes. its like a book, i have one that stores 160 cds and its not all bulky either. just go to the music section in any store or walmart, they are like 5 bucks.
