Depends on what you are looking forward to as fun. You could make a picnic, go out in the backyard or a park to get out for a meal. You could pick up some tealights or other candles and place them all around the bathroom for a romantic bath together. Or you could act like teenagers again, get in the car go to McDonalds grab a bite, then cruise the main drag that all the kids drive at night, then go parking for awhile. It has more impact of acting like teens though if you get caught by the police parking. You oughta see the look on the policeman's face when he realizes he has grown ups.

Pack a picnic and go to a park... find a secluded place, and... (you're husband will love you).

Are there any local outdoor films or theatre? I live in between two cities... 1 has movies outside on the beach on a giant screen, the other has Shakespeare productions in the park. Both are free.

Bowling (so corny, but so fun)

It may sound really "hookie" but get him to ask you out on a date....he can go to a friends to get ready and you can stay home...he can come to pick you up and you can go somewhere that is special or important to you both...go for a walk...talk about old times and get to "know" each other all over again...learn to fall in love with each other again and it will make your relationship that much stronger. Do something simple that makes you both happy...then have him drop you off at home and give you a kiss goodnight..like a real date. My husband even has gone so far as to re-enact our first date and even has taking me to different places to propose to me again..and again and again.....of coarse I've said yes every time. Spending time alone and enjoying each others company is the best you can do.

Free: its summer! Pack a picnic and go to a park, or burn a CD of your favorite couple songs, go for an after dark drive, and then find a private place to park (c:. Board games, if you choose to be fun, competitive and flirty about it.

Cheap: Big effort, low cost romantic meal made by you...candles, flowers from the back yard, full hair and makeup, sexy unders, the works. Blanket on the floor, bottle of wiine on ice.

Go for a nice walk along the river or lake if close by. Stroll hand in hand on main street window shopping. Take a nice long ride in the country, find a quiet area, put a blanket on the ground and stare at the sky. But most importantly talk. Remember when................... Have fun tonight.

We do inexpensive almost every time~
Try eating at home, and going out for desert....get the works! Coffees, extra chocolate...etc feed each other the last bite!

also, there are tons of activities in metro areas that are free. Look in local papers for outdoor festivals, or areas of interest, stand on a bridge and look at passing cars/river/pedestrians.

We also love going for drives in areas of town that are beautiful. We imagine what we'd do if we lived in a big, historic home.

believe it or not, local bars (although not my favorite place) can serve as cheap date nights IF: you arrive early before cover, and IF you don't drink or limit your drinks to one each. stay for the first set, then go home before the crowd gets really irritating.

invite another couple over to play games/have snacks. Trade off and go to their place next time.

go park!! my husband and I went to the lake, and made out like teenagers! we went home to finish.

take a bath together, one where you really do get into it, candles bubble stuff, massage oil, the works. make a point to pay attention to each other, without skipping straight to sex.

Hey this is a harder question then it sounds! hmmmm well yes sex is fun but it doesnt last long.have you tried video games?I know it sounds wierd but if you have high speed internet and an xbox 360 you and your hubby can work together to win whatever game you are playing. online you can play with other people, and now they come with headsets so its like playing with a bunch of people, and you and your hubby are on a team.I would recommend shooter games.believe me it will be fun for the both of you!

I love the gourmet picnic approach at this time of year. Find the highest quiet, remote hilltop with a great view, spread out a big picnic blanket, and watch the sun set together while you savor a bottle of wine, a baguette, cheese, pate, olives.... and no one has to do dishes!
