About 6 hours, and 2 fill ups of gas driving. Or you can purchase plane tickets, sometimes you can get GREAT deals on flying, and that takes about 45 mins. Rochester is less expensive living, but NYC also gets paid a little bit more, to make up for their high costs.

Rochester is not nearly as congested as NYC. Rochester gets ALLOT of snow, where as if NYC gets 2 inches they have to shut down...It has happened before :) Rochester night life, and NYC night life ARe similar. I've been to both, and have no real preference. NYC is a bit expensive if you go there on a Rochester income.

You can get anywhere in Rochester in about 15-10 mins, if not less. NYC...please don't even try to drive a car. Take the subway. Besides NYC insurance is about 3x more expensive than it is for a car in Rochester...

I'm sure there is more, but those have been my experiences, Ive been to NYC about 4 times. I always drive...I don't like to fly.
Anyways GOOD LUCK!

333.77 miles.5 hrs & 37 minutes travel time. NYC is a great place but may be cheaper housing in Rochester.I have a house in Rochester & one 45 minutes away in the country. It may also be easier to get around also with our bus system. The schools here also very good.
