Have you given birth to a micro-preemie (under 3 lbs)?

And if you have, have you considered becoming pregnant again or have you had a baby after your micro-preemie? I gave birth to a micro preemie and am considering having another baby. Just wanted to see if anyone out there was successful. Thanks.

I haven't, but I work with premature babies. You are at a higher risk for a premature baby, once you've already had one. That being said, the odds of a sucessful, term delivery are still very good. Your doctor may choose to examine you more often, you will be well instructed in the signs and symptoms of early preterm labor, and possibly screened for some infectious processes know to be associated with a higher risk of premature labor and rupture of the membranes. Discuss this with your doctor. Good luck!

No, I am too young to have a baby. My mom works w/ preemies though. U should totally have another child. There r plenty of ppl that have more after preemies. Just b/c ur baby was a preemie doesn't mean ur next one will. Go for it!!!!!!!

First of all, you need to go to your doc and know why your baby was a preemie.
Then, you talk to him about having another baby, he'll explain everything that is needed to know .
But I'd say that one premature labor doesn't necessary mean you are going to have another premature baby. You just need to be more careful
