Considering the popularity of blogging services like blogger.com and wordpress.com, do you people think that these services will eventually become paid services. How's blogging profitable to the companies which provide huge infrastructure to host enormous number of blogs.

Many blogging services already have options where you can pay to have more features on your blog... for instance a person with a free blog might just have the basic blogging tools, but a person with a paid subscription could add more photos, use different fonts, etc. Also many free blog services profit from the advertisers that pay to put their company's banners on the blogs.

No, I don't think so. I think they will just end up having more advertising and will make money that way. They will probably start selling info like email addresses to data companies to make money to keep up with the cost for maintance.
