Honestly? No. Here's why: Ok, you're the playground monitor(UN).Every day, you see little billy(israel), and little johnny(whoever's attacking em this week), going at it over something. Every day, they fight and fight and fight. Everytime they fight, you go break it up. This goes on for months. They've trained you to come to their rescue, they get to make a spectacle of themselves and they know there'll always be the happy ending when you come to 'make it all better'.

Maybe, what needs to happen is that little billy needs to finally whup on little johnny, show him who's boss, and after that they can be friends again...

The UN is a sham, primarily governed (80%) by Third World tinhorns who all would rather see the USA and Israel destroyed. Many of the UN reps come from the terrorist countries. The US has only one vote, and these days, most all democratic and free nations (and France is not one of them) are under constant threat from those that lurk the halls of the UN. Going to the UN for help in a crisis is like going to a pyromaniac because your house is on fire.

The UN can only do what the member states agree to do. So it is not the UN that is calling the shots. I am sure Bush knows this just like I am sure that Bush did read Bo' Rabbit or it was it read to him by his nanny.

Bush is all for the UN when he wants to start an War, but when it is not his war, then he might even hesitate to waste his time.
It is a sad commentary.

The United Nations is like a debating stage. The staff at the UN facilitates meetings and supplies the groups that meet there, but the United Nation does nothing unless the member States agree.

LOL the UN. I think there trying to get like 2000 UN soldiers into Lebanon, but its still to early. And as can be seen from history UN is much talk and debate and little action. So by the time they will decide on what to do it will be a while. Also dont count on the UN to solve this problem.

The fricken UN is worthless, and until you realize that you're going to be asking a million questions, so allow me to set the record straight, so to speak. The Islamo Fascists have declared war upon the entire non-muslim population of the world, so unless you want to wake up with your throat cut from ear to ear, then sit back and accept the fact that Israel is defending their right to exist on Earth.

i'm sure they want to, but think about it:
lebanon started the whole thing and israel's just trying to defend itself. on top of all that, lebanon refuses to stop because iran has taken it's side. israel is backed by today's superpower (arguably the United States) and Great Britain. the war's just going to go on because it's another proxy war; Iran's trying to hurt America by hurting Israel, while America and Great Britain are trying to get back at Iran through punishing Lebanon.

it's stupid, but politicians would argue that there's no reason to become too involved until lebanon and iran both beg for mercy.

All the UN is, is an appeasement group. They want Israel to stop and they will force Hezbollah to disarm, but the last time the promised it, they failed.

God is at work in Israel.

Like they haven't been trying for years but keep getting thwarted by the US? Too bad history is so rewritable.
