How come you can change your hair color, hair length, eye color, skin color, and clothing, but not your body type? What if you're a little more curvaceous and you want your avatar to represent that? Especially given the number of teenage girls using this, why would Yahoo! want to perpetuate the myth that all girls should fit the same body mold?

You have a point. I don't have jokes...I have problems.

At the same time I would point out the alarming resemblance of many Male Yahoo Avatars to Corey Feldman.

What is worse...anorexia or looking like the Feldster???

Good question. I am a guy. I was looking through the body types for something representative of my shape. The only thing close was a body with a spare tire, white wife beater T-shirt and a beer in his hand. I would like to see some more choices also. Sorry I don't have an answer. All I can offer is empathy.

To accomplish that goal your only other option is to subscribe to Yahoo Answers 360 degrees - one of the options next to the avatar or no picture option. Then you can put your own photo in there, or acquire a clipart image that is more like your figure, but without showing you as the real person and preserving your anonymity.

I agree. Most American women don't match the supermodel/Barbie shape. I'd like to see a little more variety, as well.

A related question- why do we only get to see an avatar's head? I went to great lengths to make sure the entire avatar- clothing, background, accessories, etc matched me!

It's a reflection on what's going on in society. Thin women are in. Curves are out. I'd like to be able to change that too. Not everyone is the same body shape and no one should be expected to be the same shape and size.

It's good for the fat people who want to appear thin!

I think it is weird. At least on Sims 2, you can choose between regular, a bit chubby, and fat. And then if they work out a lot they can be super-fit and muscular.

Well a guy probably designed them and they might want woman to be skinny and sexy so the can slim slender avatars instead of woman all shapes and sizes because men are pigs.

Yes, I've been wondering that, myself. Fat person here! I'd like my avatar to be fat, too. If someone wants to be so intolerant that they don't like my fat avatar, that is someone I don't want in my life, anyway. More avatar choices! And let's get real!
