trying to make its citizens pay their own evacuation fees? This is not a question on whether or not they should have to, but rather where the law that is being waived came from. Personally, if people were willing to ignore warnings to visit Lebanon, they should be responsible for their own actions. Since May 2, 2006, the State Department has warned all U.S. citizens not to go to Lebanon, but where in the world did this promissory note rule originate?

good question i wish i knew the answer. But law or not it would not look good or be ethical to abandon our own citizens.

I wonder if the students who were there for school before May 2,2006 will have to pay?
