Have Am Conservatives lost all reason,demonizing American Liberalism by equating it to Totalitarian Communism?

Last I looked Liberalism is part of the political philosophy that helped put the nation together during the war of Independence known as "The American Revolution." Anyone who looks up the primary meaning and secondary senses behind the word *liberalism* knows that any comparison with either *Totaltarianism*, or *Communism*, or the combination *Totalitarian Communism*, is logically and factually indefensible and absurd. That is because they are totally unrelated political philosophies. At the most basic level they each view human nature differently.

This Q is equivalent to a Q I asked about American Liberalism which demonizes Am Conservatism because as an Independent voter I want to understand the political pathology that has taken root in the US and has divided us as a nation.

This claim about American liberals is generally a truism. Communism did not die with the fall of the Berlin Wall. Communists were well embedded in American society since the 30's and they have gone nowhere. They are still here, wearing different clothing - i.e. calling themselves liberals or progressives. A little more objective research will prove that, despite the way he went about it, Joseph McCarthy was correct in his claims of communist subversion in this country and how it has infiltrated our government. The commies hate him so bad that they still won't leave the poor dead guy alone!

Betty Friedan, the woman who started the feminist movement back in the fifties is an avowed communist. So, too, is Patricia Ireland, the former national head of the National Organization for Women. Martin Luther King was a communist, as were most of his closest advisors.

The tactics used by modern liberals are exactly those used by communists around the world. Destroy or assassinate the character of anyone that disagrees with them, if not destroying them personally and professionally. These tactics are the mainstay of modern liberal politics in the USA and a prime tool of cummunists.

The Communist Party USA used to run a presidential candiate for every election until one year they decided not to run any more. When asked the why of this, the communist party said that both parties had adopted all the platforms of the communist party - so there running for the high office was no longer necessary. I highly recommend you read the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto and see just how far down the road to communism the USA has progressed. Further, I suggest you read the book I cite below as an excellent form of information. Written by a former liberal and head of the LA chapter of NOW, you will not find a 'conservative' making the revelations found in the book. This is from an insider who knows how the game is played.

Where your confusion arises is in the actual alteration of the meaning of the word. In another time, yes, liberals were those who sought the liberties we possess as Americans. But modern liberalism is just a word that communists and socialists hide behind to forward their agenda to destroy the USA and our way of life.

This is a bitter pill to swallow, but it is the way things are. I would suggest some research into communism and how it works its 'magic' before I would completely refute the charge that has you so upset. Read the book referenced below and then come back and tell me how wrong I am for placing this post.

I think there's an element of truth to their protestations...I think that liberalism as we know it today is a 'soft spot' that will be a tempting target for people from other countries to try and take advantage of. I think in some instances there's been evidence of that already, our nations' universities, instead of turning out top-flight scientists, doctors, and so forth, have done a superlative job of turning out political pundits and foreign-interest advocates.

The United States is a country, independent of the rest of the world. That's part of why we're so good, we do for ourselves and don't ask for help unless we flat-out can't get by without it.
While partnerships with other countries are all good and fine,
it sure helps to keep the facts in mind, at the end of the day, and not get TOO chummy...

Well, the main power group of conservatives aren't really acting conservatively, since they have allowed too much corporate influence in government, making them actually fascist (Mussolini fascist, not necessarily Hitler fascist). The general public that calls themselves conservative don't know what is going on because they are too busy working their butts off to pay for all the bling that gets crammed down their throats.
Liberals, on the other hand, don't seem to have any pragmatism left in their souls. Everything has to be some kind of 'evil conspiracy', 'evil empire', or 'big mean guy in charge', when the reality is that they are just as guilty as the worst corporation because they keep buying all that bling with their diploma-enhanced incomes.
We have to get back to the land as the source of value. Food, water, shelter. Individual and community rights, minimal consumption. These are conservative values that are mostly being pursued by people with liberal ideas.
I want to call them "Localists".
Everyone else is just being slaves to the corporations and their lizard brain advertising.

Today's "liberals" do not fit the classic definition of "liberalism." Liberalism is often compared to totalitarianism because of its modern-day emphasis on the "common good," which is what the fascists and commies were all about. Since they were working for the "common good," they could justify anything they did as being good and noble.
