There are two types of Stem cell research. Non Embryonic, and Embryonic. The Non is the preferred method using adult stem cells and the blood from the umbilical cord of a new born. That is cool....no problemo.......
The heat comes on with the Embryonic stem cell research. Even doctors are arguing over this method.
I believe if a better campaign was launched there would be no issue with anyone in regards to this as long as it was clearly understood to all that the funding would only be for NON embryonic stem cell research only. Embryonic stem cell research would remain illegal and unfunded. California has tagged 6 Billion $s for this. How much money do they need? That's a bunch of lettuce.

I don't honestly know, but I also don't know why adult stem cells aren't just as good. Why are embryonic stem cells necessary for this research? I'm not being a smart-@ss here (for once); I honestly don't know. Got a link that explains it? I'm too lazy to look it up myself. lol

Primarily, and in short form, it sets a dangerous precedent -- i.e. using the unborn to repair the already living. That's the primary argument. Has nothing to do with liberal or conservative. It has to do with whether we are mercenary enough to prey (willingly) on the unborn to sustain (primarily) the wealthy classes to keep them alive and in power longer. And the wealthy classes include virtually all politicians from both sides. Yep, a very dangerous precedent.

i don't see why they have to freeze the embryos in the first place, because those embryos are humans and deserve dignity. also, adult stem cells and umbilical stem cells have been PROVEN to be better.
