Like we are republicans or democrats....

Shouldn't we be worried about taking over the world(hypothetically)

And I think we shouldn't have a President...We should have like a group of 5 people who run our country in a Democratic way. So we would vote for the person we want out of like 10 and then the top 5 are our "council". Pretty weird i know...but i was bored and tired of people like "Oh Bush sucks...and then people are like clinton sucks"....everyone doesnt like everyone..just be glad we dont have some Nazi killing us. No offense to the Nazi people..well kinda...but not really.

Kind of like Switzerland. They have somewhat a government like you described except instead of 5 council members they have a rotating presidency of 7 council members serving a 1 year. Also Switzerland is one of the most democratic countries. However I dont see that working for such a large country like the US.

It works for Switzerland because its small and has usually a neutral stance on a wide range of issues. The US however is a major player in the world and cant always take the neutral way out it has to pick sides and when doing this there would be too much conflict and no unanimity between the members.

We kinda already have that. Unfortunetly, it isn't working all that well.

You see, our gov, if you don't really know, has 3 branches. Exec, Legislative and Judicial.... they're supposed to be co-equal branches of the gov and provide checks and balances to the other.

Problem is, one party will blindly follow the one in control of one or the other branch (exec and legislative). If they're of opposite parties, they seem to work against each other. And, over the past few decades, the presidency has become more imperialistic, getting quite a bit more so with Bush. He yields quite a bit of power and the legislative branch doesnt do much to balance his power.

Then of course there's the whole power thing and getting more of it.

Can you lift your shirt a little higher .......... ?

We are divided into liberal/conservative Democrat/Republican because we have different priorities and we have different ideas for how to solve whatever problem we suppose we see.
