There are legal ways to enter this country, yes they are awkward, but no free ride, no maesty, just politely send them home. If you look at the favorite target, Mexico, it is two years in jail, and not a good place I hear. The burden they place on the American taxpayer is extremely high, costing us all. The stress place on our social services is very high. It is a way too easy way for those who wish this country harm to enter the country with the intent of directly or indirectly doing harm. And you need to look at abuses heaped on these people as well, they can be put into virtual slavery. Many reasons why we should strengthen our borders and remove the illegals from our lands, a great many have good solid moral reasons, but don't ask the politician who is courting the Hispanic vote. The reality is that if we kicked out all the illegals in the US, it would put our country deep into recession for many reasons. Thousands of small to mid size companies employ them in industries such as farming, construction, domestic service, etc. Americans are way too full of themselves to work for 5.50 an hour picking strawberries in a field 9 hours a day. If these companies have to pay more to attract american labor, then they will pass the costs right on to the consumer. Also, don't forget that these illegals are buying our goods, paying rent and paying taxes.

What we need to do is create a plan where illegals are given an ID card so we can start the process of making them non resident aliens with real social security numbers, with the eventual goal of having them become US citizens.

The cost of hunting them down, removing them from the labor pool and sending them back to their home country would be way too high for this country to bear.

Say what you want about illegals, but they are the backbone of the low end labor pool that keeps this country going.

I am more concerned with: the war that's happening and the tsunami that has caused so much destruction.... my mom's health care and medicine cost --- the only reason people are down on the illegals is due to government and media attention ---

I believe in giving them a chance to be legal, but where I live theres way to many wet backs. The need to get a green card & learn "Our Language"
If they truely want to stay.
