"My 1991 Suburban acts like its not getting enough gas and sometimes stalls. What could cause this?
I have replaced the spark plugs, the fuel filter, and treated the gas with STP. When I turn the air conditioner off, it doesn't act as bad but will still hesitate some. I am wondering if the fuel pump is going bad. Does anyone have any suggestions?"
This was what I asked the other day. I have now taken the suburban in. They found that the overflow tank was busted and I was almost out of water in my radiator. So they refilled my radiator and replaced the overflow tank. They thought that that would fix it. It is not hesitating anymore while I am driving, but when I try to start the car it will start then die once or twice before getting going. Anyone know what else could be the problem?

ok, ill admit i didnt read your whole question this time, but in regards to the last question, try replacing the catalytic converter. they can get very clogged and cause the symptoms you are describing. just a thought.

It is possible that your fuel pump is going out. It would be bad to replace it if it were not though. Look over all of your vaccum lines and fuel lines to be sure they are not rotted out. New air filter? Are you losing any water? I would begin by checking the fluids and doing a compression test. If there is no error codes from the computer then it may be the fuel pump. Crap, suburban, not subaru sorry...you can short pins 1 and 2 on the OBD plug and turn it on and the check engine light will flash codes. Good luck
