They weren't at first, in the late '80's, but when Bono decided to give his opinion about the world situation personally, they were attacked by the media, which caused controversy, then of course more fame, and then they are so damned good at performing, so their nex tour was a huge success. I don't believe he, Bono, will make much success in his political views in his life time, but music and speeches by famous people do tend to overlap lifetimes of humans, so our great, great grand sons and daughters will hear his voice. Unlike Jesus Christ, if he ever existed, Bono's is recorded. I could say the same for many artists of our lifetime. Books are now written by intelligent writers now, not some guy walking the desert floors, with worshipers. You have to put your self in those days, no music on the radio, no tv, etc. Think about it, that's all, Ron Couch
