I think that both men and women can sing.
But have you heard Etta James, that is a beautiful strong voice. No man can sing the songs she sings.
At Last and Sunday Kind Of Love, those are songs that needed to be sung by a woman.
Let's Get It On, needed to be sung by a man. The song determines the voice.
It would be like Marvin Gaye singing Oops I Did it Again, that would not be a good song. But it's not that good with Britney singing it either.
That's funny someone like Sheryl Crow should sing that song.

Singing teachers will cost money and can be expensive so they're not for everyone. Singing can be learned so it's not an "either you have it or you don't" kind of thing.
Whether you sound like crap or you're decent, I recommend this singing course. It's one of the best methods to learn to sing well in a short amount of time. It's all about using efficient techniques that work.

thats true, esp in rock, all my favourite bands have guys as the lead singer
my fav song with a female would have to be stuff from no doubt, but the old stuff, like tragic kingdom days
and then the cranberries too
women singers stick best usually to the poppy kind of stuff,
but rock, guys are usually the best

one of my favorite male singers in Michael Jackson during his 1980's period like the song THRILLER, BEAT IT, BILLIE JEAN and many more and female is probaly the women from the eurthymics of the 1890's period like SWEET DREAMS ARE MADE OF THIS too

um duh. rock bands?? i dont know any rock bands other than flyleaf with women as lead singers...so yah i totally agree. males sing much better than females
