I think a best friend is a friend is someone who will always be by your side through your ups and down.
It is difficult to straight away tell whether a friend is true to you or not, it is through the time that you spend with your friend over the months/years and somehow you will be able to tell/judge a friend personality.

When they are there for you no matter what.....through thick and thin. When you can call her at anytime and she will help you through anything. I have had a best friend since we were 10 and we are both now 24 and we are always there for eachother.
