I never understood why women jump at the chance to go to a medical doctor w/ just a mosquito bite or a headache and men avoid them like the plaque even with a severed arm. Are women really just wanting to meet a physician & marry him? Does going to the doctor give women a shopping high?

The majority of responses I am geting are aligned with my observations. Sure a few women out there don't frequent the doctor, but that is the minority. I am getting some good responses, keep 'em coming folks. Add on additional text if you like.

Guys want to think they know everything and don't like asking for help. They think if they go to the doctor they can't be a man and withstand the pain.
Women are just paranoid.

No. Wow if u think they want to go just to marry a doctor u have misinterpreted women....and i wonder what other untrue things u think about us. We go because we worry easilly, and if something is potentially wrong we dont want to take any chances. Were as guys are ashamed to admit theyre may be something wrong with them and that they might actually need help from someone else. I think its the mans ego that gets in the way. Just like when a woman has a kid she wants to take him to the doctor for the slightest thing to make sure hes okay, we do the same for ourselves.

Women are typically socialized that seeking help is okay as society in general tells them that they are inferior and unable to handle things on their own. Men are socialized to believe that they should never ask for help and handle everything on their own, hence the need to fix things up around the house even when they may have no technical skill to do so. So, in short, it is because of sexist socialization going both ways.

no Dr Evil.,no shopping highs, they are just more conscientious of their health, and less chicken. And the don't have (i have to be tough) macho complex.
Plus not all women like to go to the doctor. I try to stay healthy, so I have not been to the doctor for a few years...

hey hun....i like to avoid the doctors as much as i can....but i thank its pretty obvious...some men just dont go cause they are afraid the doc will fix em' and they wont have any thang to complain about...and tha ladies like to talk about the visit and the stuff they got lol....this is ment to be read with a since of humor....love daisy

My husband thinks he knows more than the doctors and that he doesn't want to be "practiced" on...
I want to know if there is something wrong with me and I want to keep my youth...if the doctor can help me even a little bit with this I will go!

i'm a woman and I don't run to the doctor in a flash I wait and wait because I hate going to the doc and waiting for hours to see him I have better things to do with my time

Men do not like to be in an vulnerble situation.
They feel like they know what is going on and they can control what ever is happening and do not need a dr to tell them what they THINK they already know. . .

Because when the woman is sick or hurt, she still has to do all the work at home that she usually does,and no one takes care of her; while if the guy is sick , his wife takes care of him and does both their chores. She 'll need to get better real soon.
