The funny thing about all this phone business is that a lot of people who complain about their phone calls being 'listened to' (they really don't understand how this program actually works, but that's ok) are the ones who can't sit for five minutes in a restaurant without grabbing their cell phone and talking to somebody... Jeez, it's not just the government, it's EVERYBODY around you who can hear your stupid, useless calls...

Go to a mall, see if you can walk for 10 seconds without someone walking by you, holding a conversation on their cell phone...it'll never happen...

From the way this question is phrased, I think the person asking it understands that ordinary phone calls people make are not being 'listened to'...

If these people would just think about how much time THEY spend on the phone each day, multiply that by about 150 million, and then try to figure out how the hell the government is going to get the manpower necessary to LISTEN to all that, they'd realize that they're phone calls are not being listened to by anyone, other than the people next to them in the movie theater who are trying to get them to shut the hell up with their cell phone calls because there's a movie on...

Also, some people WISH that their calls are important enough for the government to actually give a rat's a$$ about them.

Why should I care? Most likely none of mind. If he wants I will tell him before each call so he can listen. Any person can listen to cell phone calls Any time they want by spending a few dollars. It is legal as well. land line calls are a little harder to check out for most of us but again with a little money even that can be done. We have very few secrets if some one wants to track what we do.

I couldn't care less....First, I'm not interesting enough to listen to for any great length of time...and second, I've got nothing to hide.

Email interceptions...uhhh...I don't know...if he intercepted them, would I even get them?

Anyway, I'm not worried.

Let me know when the government starts intercepting our bills, though, so I can sign up to be on THAT list!

Most people don't realize that if they aren't terrorists or directly supporting them, they don't have anything to worry about.

Hey, if they want to hear my pissing, and moaning, and all my stresses, then they're welcome to them! Hey, Lib! If you're not associating with terrorists then they don't care who you're having phone sex with, or what adult porn sites you're surfing. Rest at ease, Lib.
