nowadays gangsta means cool and ghetto means stupid/bad. but really, being ghetto and gangsta is really anything to be proud of. where I live there really are gangs and its nothing to be bragging about. they kill people for pleasure.
Example: What? He gave us 9 pages of homework? that is sooo ghetto.
Like the shirt on you-its gangsta.

Slang terms for being a misfit, and an anti-social piece of crap with no respect for the lives or property of other people.
Most of the folks who really were gangsta, are dead, at an early age, the remainder being locked in small dark rooms for 23 hours each day, let out only for one hour if they have been on best behavior.
We're talking life terms, here...

GHETTO means something rigged shitty. or **** half done or like could of been better. like a car hooked up with 2 rims and hub caps on the other 2 wheels. gangsta is the streets people and they sell drugs kill steal you know like the streets and ****.

when the say your ghetto or gangsta they mean your from the streets you lived on the bad side of town and you have seen and done thing ppl born to suburban life have only seen on tv

it has no alternative meaning. ghetto is poor or living in the poor. gangsta is gang member or also someone who lives in the ghetto.

i think of it is humorous that anybody from any venue of existence can placed on any clothing and look like a number of different style of man or woman. once you notice issues like this, it is a very jarring way of determining that clothing to do no longer make a man or woman who they are.
