How is a motorcycle/car taillight wired so that when the motorcycle is on the light is on but when you brake, the light gets brighter?

Yes the light bulb has 2 filaments but the light socket also has 2 contacts in its base. It has 3 wires attached and switches at brake pedal or handles to turn on power as well as off.

It's not the wiring, it's the bulb. It has two filaments. One is on when the bike is on and the other is tripped by the brake mechanism.

Two element light bulb. Wire to running lights, wire to brake switch, wire to ground.
