Yes it is possible. You should ask your doctor right away if he/she would be willing to let you have natural birth aftera c-section though(some doctors will not even consider). C-sections are becoming overused in a lot of cases because doctors would rather be safe then sorry and also some women are requesting to have them done. If your doctor is not even willing to let you try or check to see if its possible I would call some other doctors until I could find one that will. I know there are some doctors that would be willing to let you try it if everything is ok (as far as scar tissue from your first) but of course if you plan a natural birth and the doctor feels that it is safer for a c-section then your going to end up with a c-section.....Also you could write a birth plan (thats what I did) and gave special instructions on if I do need a c-section.

It depends on why you had the first C-section and how it was done.

If you had horizontal incisions both inside and outside (you'll need to talk to your surgeon to know for sure), your doctor will likely tell you you can attempt a vaginal birth. The risk of uterine rupture is very low, and natural childbirth is almost always statistically safer than a surgical birth. But only your doctor can tell you what's right for you.

If you do decide to attempt a VBAC, they won't be able to induce you, though, so if you or the baby experience any trouble near the end of pregnancy, you'll likely end up with another C-section.

Why did you have to have a c-section? I had my 1st vaginal with epidural, my 2nd was natural, my 3rd was by c-section due to placenta previa. I was in the hospital for 6 weeks and then they did the c-section at 35 weeks of pregnancy. I am now due with my 4th on sept. 16 and I plan on have him natural. My doctors are behind me 100%. But vbac (vaginal birth after c-section) may not be successful pending on the reason you had your other buy c-section.

It depends on the type of c-section, but usually it is safe. Ask your doctor to be sure though.

I have 2 friends that have had VBAC's and are perfectly fine with healthy, beautiful children. And I hoping for mine In Sept.
I think just as long as it's being watched during labor, should be prefectly safe and fine.

absolutely. find a doctor who supports it (some don't) and will review your case. then you can truly know if it will be safe for both you and your baby.
