i never have supported the iraq war and you know this is just one more way to prove to the world that the west really is out to plot with israel the destruction of the muslim religion and arabic people. any one who opposes american people are automatically called terrorists. it is no surprise beause before the people who opposed american people were called communist. america learned well from britian on how to take over countries and destroy them.

To answerers:

If anybody brings up AlQueda and Iraq.. as if they were originally ever linked together I'm going to freaking scream. There is absolutely NOTHING linking the two you idiots!!!

And stop yappin' about the women that were raped and gas chambers. That wasn't our reason for being there!!!! And nor should it EVER be a reason for starting a war!!!

It's not our job. For Christ sake! Freaking USA needs to handle it's own problems! We have thousands of hungry starving children and adults. We have millions of people without healthcare, housing, we have a friggin gdam mess here already!

If the Bush Administration admitted to going to war with no reason, killing thousands, spending billions, ones that worship Bush would still back him up. Even if he admitted to raping a 12 year old., that still wouldn't change the views of his followers. It's an amazing thing if you think about it. I'm not for or against Republicans or Democrats, but I am against trigger happy psychopaths! The blood is on their hands, imagine what is coming to those in the Bush Administration.. wow., I'm glad I'm not in their shoes.

Everybody seems to think that the money and efforts spent there are more important than Afghanistan (where there really is a reason to fight and where there really are al qaeda) or here in our homeland. Instead we send off our homeland security to help fight in another country. Think what some freaking 250 billion could have done to tighten our homeland security.. *ahem* here, not in another country.

A fact is only what you believe to be the truth. If you say something enough, people start believing it. The Bush Administration has pretty much in a sense, created facts from air. How many psychologists/advisors do you think work for this Adminstration.. I wonder.

The reason most of them are called CIVILIAN deaths is because TERRORISTS don't wear uniforms to show who they work for. If they did it would've made my job when I was over there easier. Also, many terrorists came to Iraq from other countries, so thery are LOOKING for a fight with US troops. I'm sure you don't support that I was there, but you should also think of al the Iraqi lives that were saved by our being there. I believe we saved at least tens of thousands of lives by removing SD from power. These people would have been tortured and killed for no reason than saying the "wrong" thing, or people reporting that someone said the wrong thing about SD. I wasn't there for oil; I was there to help the people make something of there newfound freedom. If they won't, or can't, make a new government it's not because we weren't trying to help them. We are trying to give these people the same tools that Americans have been taking for granted (like voting). If my little speech hasn't convinced you and you still don't support the war, at least suport the troops. The next election, make sure that the candidate you vote for will not just yank the troops out of the middle east. It will undo absolutely everything that we have striven to build and put our troops' lives in danger. Make sure that he or she has a firm plan, instead of a vague speech, for the removal of troops.

Thank you

People can easily defend the U.S. war despite the civilian toll. I think if a lawyer can defend OJ Simpson for murder, defending the US war is a piece of cake! Here are a few arguments:

#1. To hold back a civil war.
#2. To make sure the democratic government gets on its feet.
#3. To make sure terrorist organizations don't take a strong hold.
#4. Add the words "We owe it to the Iraqi people to" in front of previous three arguments.

I don't know how you can call 6000 deaths in such a short time "on the edge of a civil war" the fact is they have been in a civil war since we captured Saddam. It will not be over until we pull out and they fight it out and form the kind of government that they want, not one that is a puppet for Bush and his band of goons. They will reject that from both sides and we could be there 1000 years and it will be the same. We need to come home and let them fight it out and the strong will survive.

Wow. You're on a roll tonite. If you get your political views from yahoo, you might as well just watch MTV and vote. Iraqi citizens still beg US troops to stay there. And with Iran on the forefront, (have you read anything about nazi germany in 1938?) they are even MORE happy that we are there.
Lay off the michael moore films for a bit and try to see the whole worlds' positions.

Let's see. Two things. One, who is reporting this number, oh right, the left wing media. And two, why are we there in the first place? To fight terrorism.

Does that mean that the US has killed 6,000 civillians or do the sucide bombings count?

How people died from Sadaam in the mass graves that were dug up?

Oh, and I guess it was alright that Saddam raped, tortured, murdered 100's of 1000's, and dumped them in mass graves? Of course it is huh Lib? The U.S. is responsible for Saddam being in jail, sons being in hell, the Iraqis voting in free elections, building their government... It's war, and in war things aren't peachy, Libby. Saddam oppressed these people for 30 years. It's not gonna happen over night, not gonna be perfect, or the way we'd want our government, but for the first time in 30 years, they are free! It took America years, and years, and years to be the greatest, free nation she is today. Get a clue, Libby.

I can defend this I was in the Navy myself and support all of my shipmates and soldiers who are over in the war zone I believe we need to be over there because of all the things that are going on it's funny though so many people protest against this war and that is the freedom we are fighting for now that's ironic

How many civilians were killed here in the U.S on 9/11? Be assured, if we sit back and do not retaliate we will be killed by the 100,000. We must be on the offensive or we are doomed. Too many want to impose their way of life on us.

You are simply nieve about how best to deal with the problem of African hunger. To be compassionate is to hold those accountable who are taking advanatge of or ignoring the problems of their own people. To step in and take over the respoinsibility of those who should care for their own people is morally wrong. It is becoming an enabler and keeping those in power who will not deal with their own problems and allows the problem to continue. The best way to help is to force those leaders in their own neightborhoods, tribs, cities, localities, areas, states, countries and continents to spend their own money, time and effort to help their own people. Only after they do that should someone else step in... You sound as if you would ignor the evil that causes the problem to continue... you are an enabler of the problem
